What do these terms mean?
- National Specialty
- The parent club's (ESSFTA's) flagship annual show for the breed — multi-day, with Sweepstakes and the Futurity.
- Specialty
- A show for English Springer Spaniels only, hosted by a breed club with its own judging and full championship points.
- Designated Specialty
- The club designates the Springer breed judging at an all-breed or group show as its specialty — wins carry specialty status.
- Concurrent Specialty
- A separate specialty with its own judging, held on the same day and grounds as an all-breed or group show.
- Supported Entry
- The club backs the breed entry at another club's show with trophies and prizes — regular breed judging, not a specialty.
- Group Show
- A show for one AKC group — here the Sporting Group — with breed judging plus group placements.
